Apni Party holds provincial meeting in Srinagar
Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari chaired the meeting; leaders discussed prevailing political scenario, pressing public issues, and party matters
Srinagar, February 28: Apni Party on Saturday held a provincial-level meeting in Srinagar. The meeting, chaired by the party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, was aimed at assessing the present political scenario in Jammu and Kashmir and discussing certain pressing public issues and grievances, besides important party matters. The leaders who attended the meeting shared their views during the discussion.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari began by extending his greetings to the Jammu & Kashmir cricket team for winning their first-ever Ranji Trophy title. He said that it is a matter of great joy and celebration, as the team has achieved this historic triumph.
Talking about the party’s strategy and policies, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “This is an opportune time to reach out to the people and make them aware of Apni Party’s vision and policies for the betterment of Jammu and Kashmir and its people.” He said that Apni Party has the will and vision to take Jammu and Kashmir on the path of peace, prosperity, and development. He added that Apni Party’s vision is to ensure that the prevailing uncertainty in the Union Territory comes to an end. Mr Bukhari urged his colleagues to enhance their political and public outreach activities in their respective areas.
Apni Party President reiterating his demand urged the central government to initiate a meaningful dialogue and engage the youth of Jammu and Kashmir in confidence-building measures to help end the mistrust between the government and the people of the Union Territory.
He urged the government to ensure that Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections in Jammu and Kashmir are conducted without any further delay. He said that, in order to strengthen grassroots-level democracy, holding ULB and Panchayat elections is essential. Therefore, Apni Party strongly urge the government to hold these elections as soon as possible.
Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari expressed his grave concern over the growing drug menace in Jammu and Kashmir and said that everyone must come forward to play a role in eradicating this rising threat.
