Srinagar 28 January ( Kashmir Crux) Local Cable Operators Suffers as MSO Fails to Provide Mandatory Channels for Three Months
Serious concern has been raised over the functioning of (SEN) Site Entertainment Network,srinagar A Cable TV MSO, which has failed to provide the Star Package and other mandatory television channels to local cable operators for the last three months.
Due to this prolonged disruption, thousands of young cable operators and workers associated with this network are facing severe financial hardship. Local Cable Operators (LCOs) state that they have made heavy investments after taking bank loans, installing infrastructure, and expanding services in good faith. However, the continued negligence and irresponsibility of the MSO has pushed them to the brink of collapse.
Operators allege that despite repeated requests and reminders, Site Entertainment Network has shown no seriousness, accountability, or concern for the livelihood of those dependent on this cable ecosystem. The absence of major broadcaster packages has resulted in subscriber loss, revenue decline, and growing public dissatisfaction, further damaging the credibility of local operators who are helpless in this situation.
“This is not just a business issue, it is a question of survival. Young entrepreneurs who invested their savings and borrowed from banks are now being forced into losses due to the MSO’s failure,” said several affected cable operators.
The local cable fraternity has urged the concerned authorities, regulatory bodies, and broadcasters to take immediate cognizance of the matter and ensure that the MSO fulfills its obligations without further delay. If the issue remains unresolved, operators have warned that they may be compelled to seek legal and regulatory intervention.
The silence and inaction of the MSO has raised serious questions about its commitment, ethics, and responsibility towards the thousands of families whose livelihoods depend on uninterrupted cable services.
Immediate action is the need of the hour.
