DC Budgam Kick-starts Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign.

Budgam, December 21:The Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, IAS, today launched the National Pulse Polio Immunization Programme in Budgam district.
The campaign was formally kick-started at the office of the Chief Medical Officer, Budgam, where the Deputy Commissioner administered polio drops to children in the age group of 0–5 years.
Chief Medical Officer Budgam, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Dar; Deputy CMO Budgam, Dr. Shahid Qadri; Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Budgam, Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Kant; along with the District Health Officer (DHO), District Immunization Officer (DIO), Block Medical Officers (BMOs), DPMU officials, and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that all children between the ages of 0–5 years will be vaccinated across the district. He informed that 628 Pulse Polio booths have been established to cover 1,21,233 children, ensuring that no child in the targeted age group is left out.
The DC further stated that house-to-house vaccination drives and vaccination at transit locations will be conducted by health teams to ensure complete coverage of the programme. He appealed to parents to cooperate with health workers and ensure that all eligible children receive polio drops.
Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Budgam, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Dar, informed that under the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme, 2,512 personnel, including health workers, ASHA workers, ICDS workers, and volunteers, have been deployed at various booths across the district. He added that eight transit teams have also been constituted to vaccinate children at transit points.
